Ok last one as I have reached the bottom of my reference and have been sitting in the parking lot at our Woodcraft store for the past 40 minutes... White elm.

Common Names: Befuddlebush, Puzzle-branch, Trickster-tree, and Devil's writingstick.

This tree has long defied classification. Many dendrologists relate it to the Monkey Puzzle Tree whereas others insist it is some kind of nut. It is primarily used to construct traps, snares, trick boxes, and other devious mind games. Woodworkers commonly complain of headaches, sleeplessness, obsessive time loss, and general confusion when trying to make something with it.
