bocote slimline

This is a bocote slimline(black chrome) with a homemade centerband of poplar and cocobola. My first try at making my own centerband. Probably wont be my last.Sorry about the dark pics but havent got the dig camera setup.

Hugo that's a nice looking s.l.that is the darkest bocote I've ever seen,good job.

I turned this blank round before i ever drilled it because it was so dark I didnt think it would be worth using. But after turning it down a bit some nice grain showed up although it was still pretty dark. Thought the lighter c.b. might help contrast a bit and if not I could always put the chrome one back on. Still not sure about the c.b. though.

I agree with Bill in this case. The brighter CB adds some contrast and makes "me" see the grain better.
