A friend of mine uses a straight edge razor to shave. He also has gotten into making his own razors from scratch. Its actually quite impressive.

I had some old razors around the house, and I was showing them to him one day, the handle on some of them were broken, but the blade was still in decent shape. I broke off the handle and made new slicks. I then turned a matching brush.

I was quite happy with the end result.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice. I do not see a washer on the wedge end. Did you just glue it? And what is the wedge made of?

I made the wedge from bocote as well and I glued it into place because I did not want washers there. For the razor end, I made new washers with really thin brass plate that I cut into diamond shape instead of round, and them peened in a new pin.
