I made this for my wife who is from Texas and loves the Bluebonnet flower. It came out okay...I was hoping for more of the blue in the flowers to show up but I think it is a very fine line between too many which would make it overpowering and not enough showing too much of the tube (reverse painted white).
This was not as difficult as I had imagined to turn and finish. Took it down to the bushings, coated it in thin CA a few times and then sanded to 12000 MM. I then put 5 more coats of thin and then 5 of medium CA, then buffed with plastic polish.
The reason for the silver bullet? My wife's favorite pen kit. I think it looks pretty good even though not MY favorite kit...Wife knows best though.
