At the June annual symposium of the AAW Andi the blind woodturner organised a visit from 12 disabled veterans, where each turned a pen, most for the first time ever. Attached are a few photos:

- John with his new pen.

- Cody, age 93, with his pen. I e-mailed him a photo and within the hour had a reply back: "Mr. Zander, By luck as a 93 year old computer idiot i was able to bring the photo up and print a copy. I will give Bill a copy at our next meeting". No flies on that guy.

- Walter teaching Bear. Walter is 94 and has been turning for 81 years. Bear told me what a good teacher Walter is. I thanked Walter and shook his hand. He just about crushed mine.

No wonder Cody and Walter are still around after surviving WW II.

Thanks to Andi the twelve had a great time. Andi's previous IAP postings are at http://www.penturners.org/forum/f18/woodturning-blind-131810/ and http://www.penturners.org/forum/f18/lighthouse-tampa-now-has-our-own-classr-132975/ I no longer have to post for her as she has managed to figure out how to do it herself using her talking i-Phone (which garbles things unless she speaks very slowly). Imagine trying to make a posting on IAP without sight. Andi is a remarkable woman whose goal in life now is to bring woodturning to the blind and disabled.
