Well, here is my second addition to my pen family coming out of the weekend with a few extra hours of practice and 2 pretty sharp looking pens (my opinion).
The first is a birch bark pen inspired by my other passion for fly fishing and rod building. The birch bark is strip from downed trees, and then cut into strips, 1x1" squares and glued together with Titebond III. This is the same method I use for turning birch bark fly rod handles and reel seats. Pretty cool looking if I must say myself.
Also, posted is a repeat of my Honduran Rosewood Sierra, and then a side by side shop of my efforts. Hope you enjoy
