A customer wanted pens made from there wood and cut a bunch of 2" to 4" thick forks, I trimmed them down where they were 7" to 8" long and cut them down the middle of the fork and then trimmed to 1" X 1" blank size. Now there dry and I have some of the most beautiful figured white oak for pens. A big tree has allot of forks and it is easier to deal and dry wood like that than big chunks of wood.
