Had just enough of this highly figured buckeye laying around to make one of the new bolt action kits! Turned out really nice (pun intended ). There are a few flaws in the buckeye, but I think it just gives it character. Sorry about the pictures, I am still working on that part. Our camera isn't quite good enough to take really good pictures... Comments and critiques welcome!

You dont need a really good camera just good technique and enough light. OK focal point is a bit off on all of them. Always use a tripod. Get rid of dark back grounds, they confuse the auto focus and you have to light them too much. Light solid colors work best. If you can try using manual focus. If not make sure you are on the camera "close up" or "macro" setting. Its usually a flower icon. Shoot outside under full sun when possible. if you do use artificial light cross light the subject with more than one source.

Great kit for the gun lover for sure. They are fun to play with, if you come tomorrow I will show it to you.

Thanks for the tips on the pictures guys, I appreciate it. I will definitely heed your advice and try it out my next time. Wild pictures by the way
