Beall type finishing system in South Africa

Unable to get a full system here I resorted to making something that would work.
The threaded bar, nuts and washers were not a problem (metric though)
Then the fun started.
The recommendations (after lots of reading) were
8" - all linen - tripoli
8" - linen cotton - white diamond
8" - all flannel - carnuba.
So off to get buffs and compound. Tried local and countrywide!

I would like the following buffs - (my list)
Sorry we only have stitched or unstitched
So I bought what I could get - 3 x unstitched

I would like a bar of the following compounds:
tripoli and white diamond.
Sorry we only have black, brown, white and blue.
Those funny names must come from some other maker.

So I have 3 x unstiched wheels, 1 x brown block and 1 x white block.
No carnuba wax in the country. Expected later this week.

Now the whole nation is on strike.
Maybe I will get up and running in a month or 2.

Sorry to hear of the "shortages" in material in SA. Be careful with the "coloured" bars as they may be for polishing steel and may not be suitable for wood or acrylic. Approach with caution. An "unstitched" wheel will be gentler(a good thing) vs. a tightly stitched wheel.

White(dymond) is often sufficient on its own to give your pens a nice buffed shine, but it will not wear best in the long run. If you can't "get" all that you need for a buffing set-up, I can help. I've got all the compounds including "premium" buffing wheels. Don't know how long the postal journey would be to SA?

Thanks for the replies.
Though about getting from Beall but exchange rate and duties makes things a bit expensive. Plus the 6 to 10 weeks postal delivery.
Wood-of-1kind will keep your offer in mind.

Anyway got it up and running (without any wax) and am getting a marvellous gloss on some red ivory so the compound must be OK.
