I have seen a lot of discussion about refills and the consensus is that standard Parker and Cross refills do the job for kits used by this group. Well, yesterday, I accidentially dropped my personal Baron onto concrete (not reccomended). It landed point first. So, until now I hadn't had a need for refills. Tried to buy one. Wally World was no help. Went to what passes as our largest office supply store in town. They have scores of refills and the clerk looked up hundreds more in their catalog and concluded that refills for the Baron are not available. :( I had thought the Parker was the refill for this pen. But, apparently not. Wassup? [?]

Frank, I took a Schmidt refill out of a Jr. Gent, and it has "885" "F" and "405" on it. My understanding is that the Jr. Gent and Baron use the same refills, so another Schmidt with these numbers should work. I took another bran out of a different RB that I had and popped it into my Jr. Gent recently, but I left that pen at home today, so I can't tell you the brand or number on that one.

Hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure these are them.

I just pulled my personal baron apart and I have a schneider topball 850 refil. I did a quick google for "topball 850" and quite a few hits pop-up. The refils appear to run about $1 Ea.

Fitting refills can be found at any office supply store (Staples, OfficeMax and OfficeDepot). Just bring you old refill and check theirs out. These are no special sizes, they are just standard. My officedepot has some very good priced ones, I think they were two for $1.49.

All types of refill can be found here, also the best quality Schmidt refills that comes with the Gents (and they fit the Baron):

I have ordered refils from Levenger. The cross rollerball refils work great. The best thing, is that they do not charge anything for shipping or handling. This is good if you just want a few, The link below is for a 2 rollerball pack.

Also saw that Levenger has the 1/4" (5.6mm) leads in both graphite and colors for a lot less money that anyone else has them... http://www.levenger.com/penrefill/penrefillresult.asp
And with no shipping cost, I like that...

This eventually proved to the be the case. The solution was to go to another store and find a clerk that was not an idiot. A Pilot off the rack fit perfectly. It writes fine but not quite as smoothly as the original with the kit. My main concern was with pens sold. I want to be able to tell customers that refills are standard and be purchased anywhere.
