Last year, I was given some apple wood.
I rough turned a bowl, anchorsealed the outside and top rim, placed in a paper bag and put it in the basement to dry.

I pulled it out almost exactly a year later to find this big split and a crack around the top of the bowl!:eek:
Using a parting tool and a saw, I removed the top and preceded to turn and finish the bowl. The apple sure does have some pretty grain and coloring!

The finish is Tung Oil Finish and buffed.
