Another Simple Celtic Knot question

When cutting the blank do you start at one side and then go to the next adjacent side or do you do the opposite side and then go back?

Can't get my mind around how the cuts will overlap.

On a four strand knot I do a side and then go opposite. When you do knots with more strands you can mix it up a little to get some differnt patterns.
