Just joined the group today. I live in Union, Ohio. I'm a semi retired semi truck driver and finally have some spare time to do the things I've been looking forward to for years. I have a decent workshop and have done quite a little turning, but never any pens. I am interested in learning to do some segmented pens. I am just getting started and don't really have anything yet. My first thing I guess, would be to get a mandrel. I have been looking at the Axminster compression mandrel, and understand from searching that it is about the best you can get.
Any input would be appreciated.

However consider some of the Indiana meetings which are just west of Indianapolis. I have been going there, and would not mind picking you up on the way - just a thought.
