Hi guys!, been lurking for a few weeks learning loads of tips and techniques, thanks a lot.

Names Pete, born & bred in Yorkshire from Irish ancestors.
Married, retired, only had a lathe for a couple of months and have had to do a bit of non-spinny stuff, so not much turning done, plenty of blanks, just need the time and the talent!!

I was looking through some pen photos and saw one I thought I'd like to try but can't find it again, it's a blue merging to silver colouring, (coloring) I think the blank was called "Mountaineers Dream", or something like that, can anyone please tell me the best way to find this blank again, I'm almost cross-eyed through looking for it, so please don't say "Look at some photos"

Will post some of my pens when I've learned to use the camera properly
T.I.A.

Hi Pete and welcome aboard!! There is a search tab in the blue bar on this page that will allow you to querry info. However, the name you gave for the blank did not give me a hit. Best I can do for now. Have fun and let us see some of your work!!

Thanks for the welcome fellas, good to see some names from other forums on here, lets me know what standard to attempt.
Barry, Thanks for looking, but that isn't the one I was after, will have to keep looking, or forget it.
Thanks again,
pete

Welcome Pete!

I know that you are experienced already, however I am going to include some links that we always do for newbies to pen turning. If nothing else these links will be good reading.

The first link below is a PDF file of a basic overview of the many aspects of getting into turning pens.
http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42446

The second link has postings by different pen turners and what they wish they had known earlier:

Here is another link - a PDF on the acronyms used here. While confusing to new turners, it sure helps abbreviate a lot of repetitive typing.

Above Link Corrected!
