Today I did my first TBC pen. A G Series. Used my lathe for everything -- drilled the hole, trimmed the barrell, turned the pen with a benjamin's best 1/2 "Versa-Chisel using John Gooden's bushings & Dead Center. I finished the pen using sandpaper to 600 grit then Micro-mesh wet to 12000 grit and 5 coats of shellawax. Didn't come out bad at all.

One of these days I need to buy the proper tools to do that. I've been "making do", sill using a mandrel occasionally.

It's fun to just play with the bushings from John .... pulling them out of the tube and hearing that "pop" sound from the nice tight fit! :)

New territory

Today I'm going to try a hand cast blank in a rare departure from wood ... I picked up a couple from Chris Merlino and I'm going to see what I can make one look like. I'm doing another G Series kit.
