I absolutely love this kit-- sleek and simple, with just enough flare to make people go w-o-w. (followed by the beloved "YOU made THAT?!")

Amboyna burl with blackwood accents, ti gold plating. Finished with conversion varnish.

Looks good man. I hate to sound like a broken record, but it looks like there's sanding/finishing lines in it.

Actually it's not, it's the natural grain of the burl. That's why I like conversion varnish (the pic kinda messes it up with the glare), you spray on three or four wet coats on *most* woods and it looks great, even on open grained woods (well, I don't like it on wenge). In person the pen truly looks like shiney wood rather than wood slathered in plastic. But yes, the pic does kinda make it look scratchy.
