I keep forgetting how to put these Cigar pens together, added with the pressure of a spouse waiting to go somewhere and here we have a scratched aluminum. Oh well, what the heck...it is all her fault.:tongue:

How are you finishing the alum??? Really pushed the edge at the cap with that blank. That must have been scary. Nice pen.

Yes, it was scary. Ever sooooooo carefully. What another issue was the bottom blank being 1/2 inch did not give me enough to work with. Lucky it came out as it did.

I like the concept, but the gold on the kit is not working with the aluminum IMHO. Got a satin nickel kit?

I am using Brasso and then spraying shellac on it. The shellac does not hold up well under heat when polishing it out.

Try the brasso, let sit for a day, then use Ren Wax.
