I picked up this beautiful blank from my gift certificate prize in the Bash from Curtis. It is Agarita and deep purple. Finished with 10 coats of thin CA. Turned it, skipped the sanding and put on the CA. I think I like that method best.

Comments and Critiques welcome.

Thanks!

Beautiful pen from a beautiful blank!

I remember cutting agarita many years ago and the wood was bright yellow.

With pens in mind, I went out and cut a stick from an agarita bush in the yard the other day and it was just a creamy white color.

Wrong time of year? Wrong variety of agarita?

Eric,
That looks great.Might not have been intentional but it screams LSU Tigers to me.
Might just be my warped monitor settings: )
Fit and finish are outstanding as well.

Did I read that right? No sanding....straight to the finish:eek:
I need some skew practice now....that sure would be a time saver, and to get a truly beautiful finish like that.....awesome!

Nicely turned!!!!

Scott (no sanding, think of the savings) B

Yep. I use the woodchuck to get it ready for finish. Used to skew it, but woodchuck is easier for me. Thanks!
