This pen was turned from Acrylic, Corian and guitar picks. The stripe thicknesses and colors were scaled to fit the Comfort pen tube length.


I made a couple of pens using dyed Poplar (Rit dye) but the dye wanted to reflow when applying spin shellac or CA glue. Eventually I used Carnauba wax and applied wax on a per stripe basis. The acrylics are nicer but cutting the thin pieces was tricky.

A truly outstanding pen. You idea for the making the service ribbon is great and your fit and finish is spot on. It's a very worthy cause and your pen is perfect.
