Ok, I read the tutorials about mold making. It says to use acedic silicone. I went to look for some but how do you know if it is or not. I did not see anything about acedic on the tube. Of course the fine print on the back may have, I didn't take my reading glasses:rolleyes:

Actually, I think what you are looking for is Acetic Cure silicon. (http://content.penturners.org/articles/2010/horizontalroundmold.pdf).
One of the characteristics of these types of silicones are that they have a strong vinegar smell as they cure. I suspect that you could ask at your local Bath/Kitchen store or one of the Big Box home improvement stores. I don't have any brand names for you, or product coding information, sorry.

I have never made a mold in my life but I do work with silicone.
In the aisle at your hardware store you will find silicone and caulking, they are NOT the same. What you want is 100% silicone. Paint does not stick to it. If the tube says paintable it is probably not the right stuff. Hope this helps.
