Anyway, I found a 2MT extension at Woodturners Catalog and ordered it.

Crossing my fingers that it wont wobble... If it runs smooth I will be able to get the tool rest up closer where I like it....

Thanks Cathy... I am hoping it works out... I would be a LOT happier if I could get the tool rest closer to the blank for the skew work... We'll see!

Would it not have been better to have ordered a smaller tool rest... I have the same problem with my Jet1442 when turning between centers, but I have a short tool rest that I got and it works great...

I have a shorter rest... but it is one of those round bar types... and I really like the Robust tool rest I have. It leans in towards the work rather than stick straight up like the other rests.

.... anyway, if there is a way to have my cake and eat it too I will! (we'll see....)
