Nice to work again; I made two of these at the same time for different people after rotator cuff surgery and "I'm back". The box is a retirement gift; I got a clock. If you know the guy - DON'T TELL HIM PLEASE. Pens and other turned items are in process too.

The wood is my favorite, African mahogany which I select cut as close to quartersawn as possible. The finish is sanding sealer followed by six thin coats of System Three Marine Spar Varnish diluted 4:1 with mineral spirit as a wipe on liquid. Sand between all coats with 1000 or 2000 grit. It feels smooooth.

Just received PayPal for another one going out to South Carolina, pretty cool. Back in the shop.
