I don't personally care much for novelty pens, but I must say, PSI has done a pretty good job on their bolt-action cartridge pens. The mechanism is quite solid and actually quite convenient to operate. I made a couple for gifts and they were well received, so I made this batch to offer on one of the gun forms I frequent.

Oh, I meant to ask if anyone could identify the wood on pen #1. It came with a bunch of blanks I scored on Craigslist and I'm not familiar with it. Smelled really sweet and spicy while I was turning it.

Any ideas?

Sweet an spicey doesn't describe any of the Buckeye Burl I've ever turned. I've turned a lot of it, all of it was unstabilized and every piece smelled like horse manure
