Got one of my old Freud saw blades back from the sharpening shop late yesterday afternoon . Wanted to see if the sharper blade would improve my segmentation and indeed it did.
I started out with what was going to be some scrap wood cut into segments to check the quality of the cut. One thing led to another and I cut out sixteen segments. Eight of two different woods. They were all glued together in full circle after checking up to a bright light with just an elastic band around them . Zero traces of gaps or light showing through so proceeded to glue up .
Let the glue cure overnight and this morning cut them into rings and glued up into bowls. Glue dried fast in a couple hours by putting them out in hot sun so sanded them down and finished them off .
