Here's a Black Ash bowl -- the bowl area is about 6 inches,

and a Brown Mallee

As usual, fun and somewhat daunting :)

Hi Barry:

I'm a newbie to IAP, and have only been turning again (after taking a break for 10 years) for about a year. Lately, I have been doing a bunch of bowls, and just recently did my first natural edge bowl when I got a natural edge blank in a "grab bag" box of wood.

I really admire the pics of the two bowls you posted. They put my one recent effort to shame. Anyway, can you tell me where you buy natural edge bowl stock? I've been looking on the internet with little success.

Again, fantastic work. Hope to get there some day. Would appreciate your advice.

Thx.

Roger

Thanks, Roger,

I think the blanks for both of these bowls came from Bad Dogs (http://burlsource.com/). I've also bought from Lee Tree (http://www.leetreewoodworks.com/) and I'm sure there are other sources out there (some of our own IAP members will have offerings from time to time).
