I'm a newbie looking for the following, any recommendations?

Ballpoint
Under $100
Fairly large and weighty pen
Exotic wood (buckeye burl, amboyna, etc)
Easy to find refillables
Anything that looks similar to Omas

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. I could help you out if you're interested in a custom pen. PM sent with a photo of a pen I've made that meets your requirements.

Here are my suggestions.

You can do a cigar pen, they are available from many people.
Here's a link: http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/s...nt_Pen_Kits___Cigar_Pen_Kit___cigar_pen?Args=

As for the wood, you can find amboyna and buckeye from Isaac Rapelje or isaacrapelje on this forum. Texatdurango also sells amboyna.

For refills, you can get them at most major suppliers, PSI, rockler, CSUSA, Woodcraft, etc. For the cigar they are "parker style" refills.

You can also substitute a Private Reserve 9000 refill for the best experience. Exotic blanks sells them, great products and customer service.

Hope this helps!:)

My guess is that you're looking to buy a pen...

There are 6000 active pen turners on here who would sell you one, I'd bet! :)

Better yet, however, is that you can make your own. We'll show you how, and it'll be your favourite from your collection, I'd bet! And it'll be a quality pen to boot! :)
