With only 6 entries so far Im looking to see some stiff competition for first place this year.
You have 11 days covering 2 weekends to make a pen and get it submitted. Plenty of time to make a superb pen and get it in.

Unfortunately, I never had the chance to interact or learn from Russ. All the pictures I have seen of his pens have been made from wood. Did Russ ever use acrylic material for any of his pens?

I have only seen pens in wood by Russ but that doesnt exclude acrylics, resins or metal from the contest.

I have not forgotten the Russ Fairfield Competition! I have been a little busy but we have just recieved our 10th submission and I know there are more out there. They are lurking in the dark just waiting to pounce on those poor unaware pen makers that think they have it all sewn up. Still the better part of a week to get a pen made and in the competition.

Darrell,
Yes they were....both of them. I still visit with Jay every chance I get. I travel to Ft. Worth frequently. Thanks Darrell.
Do a good turn daily!
Don

Don ...Those were two great personalities that you worked with . We are privileged to have three great pen makers to pass on their knowledge to all of us. Darrell

I can see them even in your quotes. Did you go to the next page (Page 2) and were they visible there? We think its because the link for the photos is tied into the management side of last years bash and general membership cant see them.

I'm sort of newish at pen making but I know enough to know that Russ Fairfield was amazing! I've learned a lot from his videos and tutorials and am looking forward to entering in this contest. I hope my attempt is something he'd have been proud of. Good luck to everyone!

We have 12 entries now in the Contest as we head down our last week. Still plenty of time to be inspired and make a pen for the contest.

Now would be a good time to make that pen. Nothing like waiting to the last minute to spark creativity and passion. The contest closes tonight at 11:59 pm Dont be late.

A little over 7 hours to get a pen in to the competition. You can make a pen in under 7 hours right? Closing time is 11:59 tonight, dont wait for "last call".
