I did a couple pens this weekend and then changed up to something different. Not too bad for a first attempt. Handle is cocobolo.
1st ice cream scoop.

I like doing ice cream scoops-they are "happy" projects.
I just got an order for 12 from a customer who gave me the spindles from a baby crib that was used over the years by the whole family. He is having me a make an ice cream scoop out of the wood for every person who slept in the crib, as a Christmas present. Pretty cool idea, I think, though I may be sick of ice cream scoops by the time I do all twelve at one time !

Wow, that is beautiful! What kind of finish did you put on it?

Actually I put a sealer on it then a hard wax and buffed it till it shines like glass. This is going to be used and see dish water so I wanted something that I could re-apply later to get it looking good again.
