A series of wine stoppers I made today for tomorrow's art trail in Denver. The top row are made using flame box elder and the bottom two are Cherry burl. I made one to resemble a wine barrel (top right), two in the shape of a hat & one on the shape of a wine bottle.

Nice looking. the one on the front left has a very thin edge on the left side. It may break easily since there is a lot of pressure in getting the stopper off.
I learned the hard way not to make them too thin and to make them so they can be easy to hold.

Thanks, Cindy. I almost gave up on that one several times due to the fractures in the wood but I persevered and it turned out more art than function. I may decide to keep that one.

I would love to come up with my own design, possible a wine glass or something. They were more hard work than I expected.
