Bill... You amaze me! I understand the process, but appreciate the vast craftsmanship and artistry.

Yea, I can also look at a Picasso, and then draw a stick figure!

Love your posts.

I'm amazed too....beautiful bowl which is enhanced by the wood you are using. It blends together but at the same time there is a bit of contrast. How do you get 10 rings up...use smaller cuts? I think I'm still not getting the concept. Darrell

I glued up 12 segments from 1" wood . Planed both sides flat and smooth . Re-sawed it into two pieces on the band saw and glued the two smooth surfaces together . Then planed the two outside surfaces again that had band saw marks on them. Easy . . peasy . . lol . .

Where do you find all the time? Is there any way you can take some pics (a video would be even better!) of your process from cutting the segments, glue up, to turning? I would love to see how its done before I tackle such an ambitious undertaking.

There are probably about a thousand discussions about it on the Ringmaster Lathe Turning board my Woodworking Friends site and I have also made a bunch of you tube videos. Hopefully this link will take you to my videos.

I am leaving tomorrow for a holiday at a bluegrass festival in Montana but will still be able to communicate via Wi Fi on a laptop although with limited time available .
