I also make candlesticks and turn the bases. I can find full 1" oak and 5/4 pine locally. Does anyone know a source for !' lumber (full size, not dressed to 3/4"). I would like other choices than pine and oak

The numbers are the thickness in 1/4" increments. 4/4 = 1", 8/4 = 2".I also make candlesticks and turn the bases. I can find full 1" oak and 5/4 pine locally. Does anyone know a source for !' lumber (full size, not dressed to 3/4"). I would like other choices than pine and oak
Been wondering about the numbers listed when looking at lumber.....
Anyone have a listing of what all the numbers mean? Or any other info that would help in making sense of it all!
THANKS,
Barney
