I posted my process in blank making. But here's is a finished experiment that me and Mark James started about a month ago. It's not perfect, but damn, it was fun getting it to work. Mark cut the maple dowl and I did the casting. This was cast with Neon Yellow Mica. The yellow was very translucent. So I backpainted the blank 3 times with Testors Chevy Orange. I only had black or that. I think that's why it has an orange hew to it.
The mica really makes it sparkle all over the place. This was also sanded to 400 then 5 coats of flex ca. After that i micromeshed it and buffed.
