I impulse bought a big Devilbiss pot off Craigslist, and its way to big for me. It's a QMR-510 and still has all the pipes/regulators/gauge/relieve valve attached to it.

I think its a 5 gallon tank. The first picture I have a 24" straight edge for reference. The pot is approximately 16" x 21"

The good: It's big
The bad: It's big. Also the clamps need some help to tighten down all the way, there are some washers on the lid to help. At around 40PSI and it started to leak, but some of the clamps were loose. Replacing the clamps with longer bolts, or thicker washers should probably fix that.

Hoping to find a local buyer, it's heavy....

I paid $75 for it and that is what I'm asking for it, or a HF Pot :)

Looks very similar to the one I have. It's great if you want to cast larger items....like bowls or multiple blanks at once. Take the gasket out, clean it well and put a little grease or vaseline on it. I bet it will hold great after that.
Someone will get a great deal!

When I read the part quoted here, I immediately thought of the "Blow Up" that Curtis experienced when he modified a pot to help with the lid sealing. He can better describe it, but I understand that adding some spacers (or ?) to the clamps lead to a dangerous situation, and the lid blew off. So if that is something like what you are describing with this pot, please reconsider. It is GOOD to NOT blow up!

If I read it wrong...sorry. Just trying to be safe.

I read that post as well and thinking about how the washers are used, I would agree with you.

Thanks for saying something, Safety first.
