This is one of my wormy boxelder blanks mixed with red and silver alumilite. These are tricky as the boxelder really should be stabilized prior to working on them. I take very light cuts with the woodchuck and douse the blank in CA every few turns. Finished with 10 coats of thin CA. Placed on a Statesman Jr with Jr. Gent clip (per request)

I love the results, but this thing took me a few hours. Luckily the recipient has already paid for it, and it will be at it's new home in the morning.

Thanks for looking!

Was the piece of boxelder eaten by worms/bugs or did you make the grooves for the resin? BTW, the resin color works really well with everything!

Nicely turned, and a great fit-n-finish!!!!

Thank you all.

The boxelder is all natural worm and bug holes. I find it gives the piece a better look than if I tried to simulate them. Of course that limits me a bit more on available materials.

That looks great. The depth of the resin areas really shows up well and the wood gives it a rich look.

It took me a second to figure out the clip. I kept going back to the finial and thinking, "Statesman...Gent?..."
