Hi,

My name is Fred from Manila in the Philippines. Does anyone know where I can purchase a pen micro/mini lathe that runs on 220 volts / 60 Hz. mains? I've been combing the net for quite some time now but I couldn't find any.

I'm thinking of buying the Fox W1704 (the cheapest I can find) and a step-down transformer so I can use it here in Manila.

I'm having second thoughts though because of a previous incident when someone accidentally plugged a 110volt tv into the 220 volt mains and it went kaboom! :(

Any suggestions from you guys will be highly appreciated :)

Thanks a lot and happy turning!

Welcome Fred, I will be coming to the Philippines on October 9th. I will be living in Bohol. I have been told that mini wood lathes are hard to come by in the PI but can still be found. I plan on taking my Jet and will be using a step down converter until I can get the new Teknatool Comet II. I guess I'll have to get it in New Zealand or Australia.
