Lots of things to correct in the technique, but I put it together just enough
to get a photo, so the kit isn't wasted.
Still need to sort out the seam issue. Black Sharpie doesn't cut it, as it
bleeds into the white. (end keys)
Gold inks aren't as sparkly in resin as they are out in the light.
The white ink does a decent job brightening the white parts, rather than
just leaving the white color of the label to do it.. just need to remember
to actually USE the white ink!
Need to ream out the tubes before assembly.. they split when pressed.
Cracks and splits are hidden on the back, out of the photo. you can just
make out the reflection of one of the cracks hidden in back.
I think I'll glue rather than press fit. Anyone know a good source for reams?
(all the sizes we use? or is there an adjustable one? I know nothing ..)
Is there a way to further harden the outside of the resin? It seems like it
marks up easily even though it is cured. Or is 24 hours enough?
I'd hate to think I need 20 coats of CA over the resin
Need more resin. Need rubber stoppers. Need ream. Need to make molds.
Need new blade for the bandsaw. Need quick release tensioner for bandsaw
.. need to marry a rich woman who will let me play in the shop all day and
make love all night.
