I saw a tube video where they used an infrared thermometer to check the temperature of the Liquid Diamond mix before it is poured. They said to pour it between 130 and 140 degrees.

Questions:
Do you use the thermometer and if so what brand do you use?
Is there anything else I should be aware of before buying one?

The cheap ones from 3M, Raytek or off brand in the $30-$60 range will do fine. Just make sure you are no further than 2-3 inches from the resin when you take the reading or the size of the "spot" you are measuring gets too big and you end up measuring the temperature of more than the resin.
