plating wands and pens

Hi all,

I've been experimenting with doing my own plating using Caswell equipment I inherited from my father...... sadly the pens and wands (applicators) are past their sell by date. Replacements seem to be unreasonably costly. Has anyone made up their own? If so can you give me guidance in a how to. I was thinking of using brass tube connected up to the power supply but its the construction of the "brush/nibs" that im unsure of

He is probably our best resident expert in that field.

You can make a pen using a stainless steel wire and felt for the swab. Brass will not work in the sense that it will leach the materials from the brass and plate them on the work piece.
