Delta 46-460 and cole jaw

Dear all,

I own a Delta 46-460 and Nova G3 chuck... I'm currently looking for cole jaw. KMStools as 2 models in stock that fit the G3. On the first one they say it fit 10" lathe but on the second they don't specified the minimum lathe size. Knowing that the 46-460 as 12.5" capacity to you think the larger will fit?

The larger will fit your lathe. The max size will be a close fit though.

The Nova web site says this about these jaws: "Suitable for lathes with minimum 12-Inch diameter swing"

You can use cole jaws on a lathe with less than the specified minimum swing, but doing so will cause you tol lose the ability to expand the jaws to their maximum diameter. The subtlety there is that means that there will likely be gaps in the range of bowl diameters that you can mount on the jaws. DAHIKT
