My choice of plating depends on the blank. I do try to stay away from the 24kt gold plating if at all possible.

Chrome as it is durable, cost effective and looks good.

Black Ti, chrome, gun metal. I don’t like gold. What I actually use depends on the kit and the blank.

I really follow the wood for the most part. If I chose based on my own preferences it would the the antiqued brass, copper and silver/pewter colors. A lot of people prefer I make shiny things, though.

Gun Metal and Chrome are the most requested finishes I get from men. For women, it's Gold or Satin. I don't much care for the Satin but the ladies sure like it.
