I have a pen I finished last night that I have to deliver to a customer tomorrow. It is a Baron/Navigator. In testing all the functions of the pen last night, I found that when I screw the front section into the pen body with a refill in place, the threads make a horrible screeching sound. If you're not familiar with the Baron, this is a metal-to-metal connection. I have not had this problem in the past, but I need to figure it out ASAP. Any suggestions?

Maybe a dab of wax on the threads. Granted that is short term.
Silicone or a Teflon based spray might be a more semi-permanent fix.

Suggestions only. I've never tried it before.

Wax will last a long time in that location. I do that to all the threads on my pens anyway. I just hate the metal on metal feeling. Wax works wonders.

Agreed on wax, just about any kind, from johnsons floor wax to an old candle stub. Just rub a tiny bit on the threads and work it in a few times, then wipe off any crumbs. Will last forever and be much less likely to seep out or cause the threads to back out than oil.
