Replacing a Statesman Clip

I have the cap with clip, off the pen. Now I need to replace just the clip part. Its on there pretty good. Anyone had to do this before or got any tips how not to mess the pen up ? Its sold pending the clip replacement.Its the big full size Statesman.

Have you tried to get a replacement part from CPUSA? You could also buy the cheapest version of the Statesman kit that will replace the part. You may lose money, but will gain a satisfied customer.

The clip is a ring that press fits around the cap. CUSA already gave me the clip but I didnt mention the cap and neither did they :) I did email them again though. It cant be "tapped out" , the cap can be and was but the ring is around the cap.
