Is rambutan a good wood for pen blanks. I occassionally go to the local woodworkers source store here in phoenix and they often have cut offs from some pretty good looking wood real cheap.
I picked up a piece of rambutan about3 feet long and 2inches by 1inch. enough to make several pens. It seems to be very hard and dense. It's raw wood. Before I cut it into blanks, does it work out in pen making?
