Hello all. I am trying to get some metal sheets to use as decorations in my pens. I am confused about the "gauges" of sheet metal. Can someone explain how to measure or convert something like "20 gauge sheet metal" to milimeters? Or what those numbers represent?
Thanks in advance.

metal gauge thickness

depending on what material you are using 20 gauge metal will be about 1mm think. if you Google metal gauge thickness you can find many charts that will give you what you are looking for. these will vary by metal and by vendor. the best thing to do is find a metal gauge close to your needs and then measure or discuss with vendor what their particular products actually is. Here is just one of the many charts i found in about 30 seconds on google for sizes.
