got wood ? got leather ?

I was surfing some pen site and in the description the person stated the wood was bought from BB in several of the pics. Anyone know who BB is ?

Anyone done a multilayer leather pen ? How does it turn ? Trying to think of things to glue up to make a pretty blank

I have done a few leather pens made by stacking leather disks and gluing them. Turn with a scraper and finish with CA. In fact, come to the bubbasville meeting Sat morning in Bedford and I'll show two of them to you. I'll even punch out some disks and we'll make one. If you aren\'t familiar with bubbasville, check out http://www.bubbasville.com . This Saturday we are meeting at "Wopodowrker's Supply" on 121 N in Bedford. It is on 121 N just a mile or so north of the intersection of 183 and 121...on the NW corner of the intersection of 121 N and Harwood in Bedford. I think instructions are on the bubbasville website. There are pictures of two leather pens in my yahoo album at http://www.tinyurl.com/bmsy4 . One is a patriot and the other is in a picture of three pens...one from a cornbob and two others. Let me know if you don't find them.

Here is a picture of one I made some time ago. I used carpenter's glue to glue up the leather squares. (IT was an old belt that I cut into 3/4" squares.) It takes very sharp tools for turning.

I have tried just about everything I could find in my garage to make a pen from. I eve tried bullet proof glass but the tubes showed thru and the glue wasnt 100% coverage so it looked tacky ! I like the recycle ideas Anyone tried a loofah sponge and do it like the catcus thing ? Thats for the article.

On the corncob blank. Can you use the accelerator on the CA glue in between layers ? I am trying to get my pressure tank working so I can try the casting resins.
