Anyone know what wood?

Ok, another question, I know I've been on here alot

Does anyone know what wood the below pen has on it? I think the lightest wood is Maple and the black is Ebony. Is this right? I'm not sure about the others though.

Looks like padauk and holly to me.

I don't think there is any maple on that pen. I agree maybe holly and maybe cocobolo and the black could also be african blackwood.

Cocobolo and Padauk look to dark to be whats on the pen. Holly and African Blackwood do look like it though.

Anyone know what the red wood might be? or is that colored?

Hummmmn...

Padauk, Brazillian Cherry, Sycamore, maybe even Black Locust....

"Reddish orange" looks like Padauk, without question... I would bet the farm on the Padauk. "Black" looks like ABW as it's more brown than black like Ebony. Lightest color looks like Locust to me, and the tiny band resembles hard maple. Center section looks like Acacia.

I think I'm going to use Acacia, African Blackwood, Padauk, and Holly.

Because of the open grain pits I would put my money on paduak for the red wood. I've turned lots of it and if all looks just like that.
