This years contribution to the Troops. Boxed up 150 Slim Line pens with pouches and Thank You cards. My Dad and I made the pens, my Mom made the pouches. They are off to Woodcraft, and I would like to Thank them for their support of Turn for Troops.

That is great! Wonderful gifts for our troops. Very nice with the pouches too.
Isn't it fun when the family can pool their talents?

My Mom makes them out of Stars and Stripes material. I will check when I get home from work, and post pictures of them.

Thanks, Dave

Pen Pouches

Here is a better picture of the pen pouches. If anybody needs more info I can check with my Mom.

2 questions for you:
1. What woods do you use for these??
2. Would you make some of those pouches for the members on here??

I would like to do the same thing with our local Woodcraft. Last black Friday they had a 10 or 20 pack of slimlines on sale.

As far as wood, I get some from members here, eBay, logs cut up by me. I get bigger pieces and cut them up on my band saw. I am always looking for sources of wood.
For the pouches, my Mom made those, I would have to check with her. The cards are from an Avery Business Card program you get with the blank cards. The cards are two sided and a perforated, and split very nice.

If your mom would like to do more of those, I would definitely be intersted in 20-50 of them.
If not i completely understand too.
