I sure like the grain and spalt in this wood,any ideas what it might remind you of,wife thought it looked like waves so i think it looks like waves;)

A line of waves rolling in on the coast. Or, oriental art of trees in winter.
Great lookin' figure in that oak. It looks like you used a bookmatched piece for the top and bottom and selected a slipmatch. Did you examine it folded toe to toe or head to head? Curious, not critical.

It reminds me of the design of the end pages of a set of books my mom had; I can't think what the name of that pattern is but that's the memory it triggered.
