I attend a class at the local wood working store (Woodworking Source). And made my first 2 pens.

I think they turned out pretty good for my first time.

What Dan26 said. Making your first pen is rewarding and an accomplishment.

When you notice your improvements it is a rewarding accomplishment.

:confused::confused::confused:Did I say that.....did I understand it.:biggrin:

Alright...inquiring minds and all........................

What did you use for timber?
What kind of finish did you manipulate?

Nice turnings, and congrats on a couple of 'firsts'!!!!!

On the light colored pen I used Myrtel wood. And I can't remember what the wood was on the darker pen. Maybe Marc could tell us as he was one of the people that taught me.

As far as the finish I used a friction polish.

Thanks to all for the nice words.
