I posted these shots on the Canadian forum and don't usually double post but I had some help form a couple members of this forum and thought I should thank them. Thanks Jeff Powell for the info on thread pitch and also John Goodin for his how to on altering taps.
This is a proof of concept piece for a run of pens for the Canadian Pens for Peacekeepers program.
The Sugar Maple once belonged to the Canadian Army and was used to floor their trucks during WWII. I was lucky enough to procure a skid of 3 foot long cutoffs about 20 years ago. The history should be appreciated by our soldiers.

The barrels are Sugar Maple, finial is African Blackwood and the finish is CA.
Once again thanks Jeff and John. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome.

Larry, once again you come up with a great idea. The pen is wonderful, but the history of the timber will be much appreciated by the heros that receive the pens. Be sure and include the history for them. Your fit and finish is outstanding.
